The last few years have seen the tablet emerge as a must-have technology accessory for consumers from all walks of life, as the in-demand device provides the perfect in-between from the smartphone to PC.

Easier than switching on a laptop, the product allows users to browse online content, keep in touch with friends and carry out work tasks without being constricted by the small screen size of most mobile phones.

Due to the easy-to-use nature of most tablets, along with their convenience, it is no wonder that recent research has pointed to a significant uptake in usage around the world in the coming years.

LG G Slate SkinAccording to figures published by Forrester last month, one in eight consumers will own a tablet by 2017, which equates to 905 million owners of the portable devices over the next four years – a considerable jump from the 150 million recorded in 2012.

Thanks to the rising uptake of slates among consumers of all ages and from various markets, many technology companies are launching new and innovative products in a bid to gain a bigger share of the market.

And LG is no exception. The company has announced the launch of the G Pad 8.3 tablet, which is the latest addition to its G Series lineup of premium mobile devices.

Full HD Display

The new product boasts the company’s first Full HD display on an eight-inch class tablet, which the producer said provides a unique user experience. Set to launch next week at the IFA 2-13 2013 trade show in Berlin, the device also boasts a wide range of connectivity features.

Dr Jong-seok Park, president and chief executive officer of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: “Complementing our G Series smartphones, the introduction of the LG G Pad 8.3 further strengthens LG’s premium lineup consisting of our most cutting-edge devices.

“Our G Pad is just another example of LG delivering devices with the unique selling points consumers around the world will appreciate.”
