However<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the increase of the price of the\u00a0iPhone\u00a012 by \u00a370\/$100 is a little less obvious<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Although,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it does mean the existing Apple smartphone range is now quite standardised, with options at differing price points. The cheaper end of the list is populated by older\u00a0iPhones that have been kept in circulation to give buyers the opportunity to enter the world of iOS without having to spend <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">around<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a3700\/$700.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the above pricing structure in mind, we would take an educated guess that Apple will be swapping new devices for old when it updates the range in 2021. Therefore <\/span><b>Apple\u2019s\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0is likely to cost about \u00a3799\/$799<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with the Mini and Pro devices on either side of that pricing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>What new features will the iPhone 13 <\/b><b>have<\/b><b>?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A smaller Face ID notch<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better cameras for the whole range<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">120Hz refresh rate on Pro models<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A faster processor<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increased storage with up to 1TB<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In-display Touch ID is now expected<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the new\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is yet to be<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> unveiled, we don\u2019t have much concrete news regarding its features or specification. However<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as always<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that hasn\u2019t stopped the rumours from flying<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he usual various leaks and speculation about what Apple has in store for us <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has provided us with a few theories\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-84709 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue.webp\" alt=\"Render of a blue iPhone 13\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue.webp 1600w, https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.wrappz.com\/blog\/wrappz-blog-images\/2021\/09\/iphone-13-render-blue-1536x864.webp 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/a>A thicker phone<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although it&#8217;s very likely that the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0range of devices will look largely the same as the\u00a0iPhone\u00a012, rumours say it might be slightly thicker in this version.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> But<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> why<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Well it might be caused by the camera module according to leaked documents shared by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MacRumours<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, renders showing what <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LeaksApplePro?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LeaksApplePro<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have claimed is the &#8216;finalised&#8217;\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0Pro show a slight reduction in the camera bump.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> They <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seem particularly confident that this information<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This also appears to be the case with a photo posted by leaker <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sonnydickson.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sonny Dickson<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which apparently shows dummy models of the whole\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0range, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also confirms the rearranged camera module<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2021\/04\/04\/iphone-13-pro-mockup-smaller-notch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mac Otakara<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also states that the thickness of the iPhone 13 range will be increased by approximately 0.26mm, and that the latest models will be heavier than their predecessors because of their larger batteries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>A smaller Face ID notch<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since launching the\u00a0iPhone\u00a0X, the notch at the top of the screen that contains the Face ID cameras has been quite a contentious issue. While some people quite like it, some have simply got used to it, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> some people absolutely can\u2019t stand it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">new<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0iPhone\u00a013 model is unlikely to completely do away with this feature, but <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniverseIce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ice Universe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has stated that they believe that the notch will be slimmed down a bit so that it doesn\u2019t take up as much real estate on the display.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This opinion is reinforced by MacOtakara, who also reports that the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0will feature a reduced notch due to the shrinking of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iphonefaq.org\/archives\/976228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TrueDepth camera system<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LeaksApplePro has posted renders of what they claim is the finalised\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0Pro, which seems to confirm the smaller notch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/markgurman?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark Gurman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Bloomberg and<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/guide\/ming-chi-kuo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ming-Chi Kuo<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also state that the controversial notch will be reduced on the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013, and Kuo<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> h<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as even said that Apple will most likely introduce a hole<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">punch like configuration when certain\u00a0iPhone\u00a014 models are launched in 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although, a tweet from the reliable tipster <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MauriQHD?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">@MauriQHD<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> says that a new release of the iPhone\u00a0may get rid of the notch altogether, although this would mean marginally thicker bezels.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>120Hz refresh rate<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whether the notch is reduced or not, the display itself is quite likely to feature significant upgrades, with high expectation that the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0will increase to a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate that will allow<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trustedreviews.com\/news\/what-is-promotion-apple-4132359\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ProMotion scrolling<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and help to catch the Apple smartphones up with most of the Android flagship models.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There also seems to be speculation that the new models of iPhone will be enhanced by switching to Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide or LTPO panels, which are currently being used on the Apple Watch. These would mean increased energy efficiency over the current OLED panels, and that in turn may significantly increase the battery life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Improved camera setup<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the hot topic of the camera setup, rumours are that minor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but reasonably significant, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">changes will be introduced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mac Otakara says that it\u2019s likely the rear camera setup of the entire\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0range of devices could be covered in sapphire glass, and the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0Pro will feature the same camera module as the\u00a013\u00a0Pro Max, including sensor-shifted OIS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitimes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DigitTimes Asia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> claims Apple increased VCM orders far beyond what is usually expecte<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and this is a component which could very well be utilised in the sensor-shift OIS system<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which would suggest it could be introduced to other models of<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0the new<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> iPhone\u00a013.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been speculated that every phone in the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0range could include<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/velodynelidar.com\/what-is-lidar\/#:~:text=Lidar%20is%20an%20acronym%20for,representation%20of%20the%20surveyed%20environment.&amp;text=A%20typical%20lidar%20sensor%20emits%20pulsed%20light%20waves%20into%20the%20surrounding%20environment.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LiDAR technology<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the rear cameras. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DivesTech?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daniel Ives<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">analyst at<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wedbush.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wedbush<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> claimed in an investor<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">note<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seen by MacRumors at the beginning of June, stating that LiDAR will likely remain limited to the\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0Pro models. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although it is worth pointing out that Ming-Chi Kuo, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trendforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TrendForce<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and leaker @Dylandkt all disagreed with the theory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg&#8217;s Mark Gurman has also suggested that a portrait video mode is in production, and also<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;a new ProRes video-recording feature that will let\u00a0iPhone\u00a0users capture clips in a higher-quality format that gives editors more control during post-production&#8221;.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gurman also describes an additional feature that will &#8220;let users better control the look of colors and highlights in their pictures&#8221; So<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it would be a very good time for Apple to update its offering to reflect the higher quality videos and larger apps we <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">all have<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on our phones <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nowadays<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Touch ID makes a comeback<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This rumour has been circulating for quite a while now, and some people suggest that it would be a feature of the\u00a0iPhone\u00a012, but of course as we now know, that was not true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Originally<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Bloomberg suggested that Apple was planning on bringing Touch ID back to the iPhone, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it has remained a staple on the Mac and less expensive\u00a0iPhones<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A combination of Face ID and Touch ID would therefore give users the best of both worlds and speed up the unlock process when required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>More mmWave<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A somewhat unexpected rumour is that Apple may be planning to expand the use of mmWave 5G technology on the next generation of\u00a0iPhones<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the\u00a0iPhone\u00a012 series, only the US models have mmWave support, whereas models elsewhere are limited to Sub-6GHz frequencies which are more extensively supported by non US networks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a report from DigiTimes Asia has claimed that more than 50% of\u00a0iPhone\u00a013\u00a0models may include a mmWave modem. Given the availability of mmWave this will probably help with future-proofing, making sure that more\u00a0iPhone\u00a013s will continue to support the faster 5G standard when it is more widely available worldwide in a few years<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Larger batteries &amp; faster charging<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An extremely popular difference <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the next generation of\u00a0iPhone\u00a0is likely to include bigger batteries than ever before<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
