Taiwanese Smartphone manufacturer HTC has announced details of its latest Smartphone handset a day earlier than planned after details of its specification leaked on the web. According to the company, the One Max will be unveiled at a press conference in China today (October 15th). However, information regarding the Android-powered phablet is already in the public domain.

The product, which is a larger version of the brand's flagship HTC One, features a fingerprint scanner - following in the footsteps of Apple with its latest iPhone 5s model - as well as a 5.9-inch screen. Continue reading →

Technology brand HTC has hit back at rumours that it has closed any of its manufacturing lines due to weak demand for its products. Although few details about the plans have emerged in the media, the company initially denied it was shutting down any production and declined to comment on allegations it intends to outsource manufacturing, reports PC Pro.

The worldwide PC sales degenerate during the third quarter of the year, marking the sixth consecutive period of falls.

According to new figures from Gartner, the so-called "back-to-school" quarter saw an 8.6 per cent contraction from the same period of 2012, as consumers increasingly favour new and exciting technology including Smartphone’s and laptops for their web-browsing needs.

Mikako Kitagawa, principal analyst at Gartner, said: "Consumers' shift from PCs to tablets for daily content consumption continued to decrease the installed base of PCs both in mature as well as in emerging markets. Continue reading →
