The South Korean company, which confirmed the news earlier this year, said its new panel would deliver an "optimal viewing experience on larger smartphone displays" - coming with 538 pixels per inch.
The Big Unveil From LG
LG's new 5.5-inch Quad HD screen is the highest resolution mobile panel to date, the organisation has claimed, offering four times as many pixels as HD at 1,280 x 720.
Officials from the company also claimed it was one of the slimmest smartphone panel on the market, coming in at just 1.21mm thick.

What Do LG Say?
Byeong-koo Kim, LG vice-president, said: "LG Display, which pioneered the high resolution mobile market with the introduction of the world's first Full HD smartphone panel, again opens new possibilities with the successful application of QHD technology.
"With this breakthrough, LG Display will continue to raise new standards for mobile resolution and lead the mobile display market."
Although news of the product's launch has caused a stir among consumers, the organisation is yet to suggest when the new product will be available for commercial use.
However, LG did promise that the advancement would allow users to enjoy more life-like and crisp images - including Blu-ray equivalent video - on their smartphones. Just like the LG G5.
LG Changed The Smartphone Market
News of the Quad HD technology comes after the company - which is the third best-selling mobile producer on the planet, behind Apple and Samsung - unveiled its new LG G2 smartphone, which is the first in the world to feature buttons on the back, rather than the side of the device.
